For more than  six weeks, The Lace Manufactures’ Museum had an exhibition in the Textile Museum in Lyons, with some of its best items of lace.

An exceptional opportunity

Thanks to the partnership with the Museum in Lyons, the “Travelling Lace” exhibition was seen by a large public.  At the same time, the Textile Museum in Lyonshad an exhibition called "Paper Dreams, Mariano Fortuny as seen by Isabelle de Borchgrave”. Also, on march 18th,the exhibition “Sewing-Body and Soul” by Franck Sorbier was opening. The happening of all these temporary exhibitions in the Textile Museum in Lyons gave the public from Lyons a multitude of marvels in the same location.

Very receptive and interested visitors

“Really, only 1 and a half hour from Lyons”

The Lace-makers gathering, together with the Lace-makers from the museum transmitted their know-how, on Saturday afternoons, to the adults as well as the children. It was a good opportunity to show the technique of bobbin lace-making.

The very interested visitors asked a lot of questions and also tried some basic moves. An experience which, hopefully, will lead some of them to join a lace-making club of their region.
