The participantsFor the first time, two networks of textile museums, the one from the Auvergne Region and the one from the Rhône-Alpes Region held a meeting. Meeting point :  Retournac ; three days of work and exchanges concerning the project of the museum.

The first day was centred on welcoming the participants (around thirty different institutions were there) and a presentation of the origins of the project for a museum in Retournac and of the fourteen following years of preparation before the final opening date.
The second day was centred on the permanent exhibition with a special interest for the collecting of   spoken testimony and the way it is transmitted to the public.
Finally, the last day was spent on the site of the diverse industrial textile heritage places in Haute-Loire.

 

 

 

children activities presentationThis program of visits and talks was briskly led by Sylvie Grange (Direction of the French Museums), Christian Garcelon (Museum Councillor in the Direction of Regional Cultural Affairs of Auvergne) and Lionel Bergatto (Museum Councillor in the Direction of Regional Cultural Affairs of Rhône-Alpes).

The council of Retournac organized on this occasion two shows: a reading of “Marthe Alibert lace-maker and finisher” by the company “Le doigt dans l’oeil” and a concert of violin and organ :  Johann Sebastian Bach played by Laure Philippoteaux (violin) and Pierre Astor (organ)
