“OFF WE ALL GO!” This is also a way to make the national heritage accessible to many. With this exhibition, master pieces are within everybody’s grasp : the beautiful painting by Miereveld dated 1625, which is on loan from the “Beaux-Arts” museum in Lyons, five theatre costumes on loan from the National Centre of Stage Costume, and some contemporary ruff collars especially made for the occasion. Discover as well the shaping of a ruff in the expert hands of a linen maid from the “Comédie Française”, shown in a video made by a team from the museum.
“OFF WE ALL GO!” also means the possibility to take advantage of all these magnificent things, regardless of any handicap: one can touch the elements, listen to the commentaries, move within a spacious area, conditions which, when put together, allow all of us to discover this exhibition, in the best of conditions.
Heritage days will also give the opportunity to discover or re-discover the collections belonging to the permanent exhibition .Guided tours, lace-making demonstrations and mechanical looms in action will be the order of the day on September 19th and 20th, from 14:00 hours to 18:00 hours.
So off we all go to the museum !
