A new library in the departement

The library holds more than 4000 books. The regional Lending library of “Le Puy-en-Velay” helps to make it even richer by keeping 2000 more supplementary volumes at our disposition.

The library offers a great variety of books : novels, youth novels, comic books, documentary books, albums, journals, dictionnaries. There is also a musical centre: The library has a music section which will gradually grow in the coming years.

The library is named after René Garnier, who was part of the resistance in Retournac during the war and who started a reading club in Retournac which was the beginning of the actual library.

Today, the library is run by a team of dynamic helpers.

All year round, the library proposes activities for all.

The library can be accessed by the terrace which is at the entrance of the museum forecourt.

Wednesday from 9:00 to 12:00 AM and 2:00 to 5:30 PM
Friday from 3:30 to 6:00 PM
Saturday from 9:30 to 12:00 AM

Yearly subscription fee (cultural card giving free access to the library, to the museum and reduced entrance fee to the cinema) :
